Summer and Planning

I have been spending a good deal of time planning for the upcoming academic year. I am a perfectionist, which means I tend to rewrite my plans up until I give a lecture or assignment. The positive of computers is that they allow me the freedom to do this; the negative is that I am not forced to finalize my efforts.

My intention is to use the theme of Digital Arts during my composition course. With students increasingly participating in online communities, digital photography, and even amateur film production, it seems appropriate to explore the various forms of rhetoric in today's world. I think we must address the effects of a return to oral composition, via podcasting, as well. The Internet has changed the rules and we must respond or be considered relics of academia.
